![]() ![]() Like all iPad apps, Sketch Pad allows you to e-mail and print your creation. There is also a track pad that can be used to position the image anywhere on the canvas. The program has a selectable palm rest that can be positioned on the bottom right or left, or it can be resized to your liking. There are four pen size options, a color swatch that is customized by simply double-tapping one of the primary colors, and there are lots of emoticons that can be added to your drawing. Sketch Pad uses the standard pinch-in, pinch-out gesture for zooming in and out. There is, however, a workaround for fast erasing: pinch the image to the smallest size possible and a few passes with the eraser will clean up the board rather quickly. ![]() I use Sketch Pad as a sort of Whiteboard but I wish it had a selection feature for ‘an erase all’ function. All of the tools can be controlled from their home location at the bottom of the screen or be made to float and positioned anywhere they are convenient. The Sketch Pad program is a must for several reasons: it is very easy to use, has several features, and it is very nicely priced. Check! You might already have access to it.An excellent sketching app that can serve multiple purposes. It’s $10 a month, but if you already use other Adobe products, it’s included in several bundles. Fresco is the most expensive app on this list, though. Adobe has also added new raster brush sets, for everything from sketching to inking and full-fledged illustration. You can control the spread and fluidity of watercolors, and even use the oil brushes to mix your own colors just like you would on a traditional palette. The “live brushes,” which approximate the physics of real-world watercolor and oil painting, have become much more than a gimmick. It came out in 2019, so it has several updates under its belt and it’s only getting better. That design sensibility has made for a surprisingly robust and flexible application. If you’ve ever used Photoshop, the interface will be clear and familiar, but it's also a touch-first user interface, not one that was designed for a mouse. ![]() Fresco is the latest software suite from the company, and it was built from the ground up with the iPad Pro in mind. Adobe has been synonymous with professional graphic design and illustration for decades. ![]()
